Pears are a classic warm-up still life subject matter for me. The form is sensuous and simple. The tangled unravelling line was imspired by a monotype done by Lee Bontecou which like a handful of aquatic spaghetti. I liked the volume the lines carried and how easily the series of lines drawn in this monotype technique gave the illusion of an uraveling ball of twine or wire
