The Splendor of Spain Barcelona, Madrid, Toledo, Seville Many world famous artists come from Spain in addition to Pablo Picasso, including Dali, Miro, El Greco, Velazuez, and Goya. Spain's cities sparkle with spiritual and cultural history, from the Romans, to Visigoths, Moors and Christians. Vibrant with its outdoor cafes, a multitude of museums, excellent shopping, sensational food and jazzy nightlife, Spain will embrace you in its warmth, colors, architecture, and modern technology. Enjoy mid 70° temperatures, soft breezes, amid charming and elegant people. We begin this 10 day trip on the Costa Brava in Barcelona, home to Miro, Gaudi, and Picasso. Then we travel via high speed train (AVE) to the heart of Spain, Madrid. This high energy city is a rich cultural center. We begin with a visit to the Thyssen Museum, followed by the Prado and Arte Reina Sofia Museums. The AVE will take us on a day long trip to Toledo, the home town of El Greco and home to the spectacular Toledo Cathedral. On another day we will travel via train to Seville where the influences of the Moors and Christians are vivid in Alhambra and the Royal chapel. A final day in Madrid to explore or even revisit sites before we bid farewell.
