Enjoy the relaxed summer pace of southern France and northeastern Spain with art professor and experienced traveler, Robert Rhoades.

We meet in Nice and conclude in Barcelona. We will stay ( 4 nights) above the bustle of Nice in the charming historic village of St Paul de Vence while we explore the environs and art collections of the Cote d`Azur. You will enjoy art lessons followed by short excursions to various locations. You will experience firsthand the colors, sights, and subjects that inspired Cezanne, Matisse, Picasso, Leger and others.

After four days, we drive in air-conditioned private cars to Avignon (3 nights). While in Provence, we will follow in Cezanne and Van Gogh's footsteps. Plein air artists may spend as many hours as they wish painting or photographing. Others can visit the Papal Palace, sample wines, take in the festival of the arts, explore villages, or the lavender fields of the region.

On the drive to Spain, we visit Nabonne, Perginan and Figueres, the birthdplace of Salvador Dali. We capture the spirit of Catalonia during our five days in Barcelona. Gaudi architectural and avant-garde wonders include museums, cathedrals and galleries. From the National d' Art Cataluyna to the La Sagrada Familia artists, art appreciators and travelers will have several options each day and plenty of flexible time for personal interests.
